It’s been awhile since I’ve had
time to sit down and write anything about how Kevin is doing with his diet and medications. After trying for almost two months I finally
got Kevin’s records from his former Neurologist. It took a little time to read them, because
they are all hand written. After reading
through them I came to the conclusion that I spent a lot of time trying to
please other people such as teachers instead of standing my ground and saying
no. I had totally forgotten that we had
tried Adderall and Strattra with Kevin years ago. One knocked him out so bad it was a little
scary and the other did nothing for him.
The only reason we even tried it was because the teacher wanted him to
stay focused a little better during class.
He didn’t do anything wrong. He
would just let his mind wonder off in another direction while doing his school
work. This all happened back in 2003 and
2004 which were stressful times for me, so I guess I can’t get to upset with
myself for giving these two pills a try back then. As it
is he is showing progress with the new medication and we’re working on taking
him off of Prozac. His new doctor
seemed very pleased with Kevin’s progress and I guess he should. The first time he saw Kevin he was sitting
there all curled up in a ball. Now he’s
relaxed and alert. He went to his Dad’s
for the weekend and his Dad said Kevin did okay over the weekend. Yes!
That’s a plus in itself.
